The Sicilian is a different storyline from The Godfather, but does intersect with Michael Corleone just before and just after his return to the US after that Sollozzo unpleasantness. In order to listen to these tapes, you will need a cassette player with balance control to adjust left/right speaker output. Perhaps the most famous line in The Godfather is one uttered by Don Corleone and later repeated by his son Michael (Al Pacino): "I'll make him an offer he can't refuse." There's a little bit of timeline jumping for different characters but it wasnt confusing or anything. Directed by Michael Cimino. I wasn't aware of this myself and during the reading of the book things were so real that I began looking up events portrayed in the novel to find out that this person actually existed. Big deal!!!! Such an interesting and wonderfully written read, but with these weird bits about the fictional character Michael Corleone tacked onto either end.
